Thank you so much for visiting Atma Prema Wellness! I'm Alex and I'm so grateful you're here reading this! I'm a woman of many passions. I am a Certified Massage Therapist, 220RYT Yoga Teacher, Level II Reiki Practitioner and a Wellness Coach. I am also a Birth and Postpartum Doula, a Professional Photographer at Alexandra Strong Photography. I love being in service to others and I'm always looking for ways to authentically offer my wisdom, talents, and passions.
Atma Prema means unconditional self love in Sanskrit. I was introduced to the word Atman, which means True Self, a few years ago during one of my favorite yoga classes. I was laying in Savasana (the final resting pose) and I wept as my teacher read a beautiful poem about Atman -- I knew in my heart that it was the word and meaning I'd been looking for, for a very long time. I believe it is my purpose in life to connect with my true self and find unconditional self love and to support others in their search for inner self love as well.
My approach to all of my services is intentional and intuitive.
I love connecting my clients with their body, mind, and spirit through breath, movement, meditation, and touch.
My bodywork style consists of a blend of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Reiki/energetic techniques. I use all of my senses to listen to your body and I intuitively choose the flow and depth that I feel your body needs. Sometimes your body is asking for stillness, other times movement, energetic touch, or deeper pressure. None of my sessions are the same as I am constantly adapting to the information I am receiving. I do not employ the "no pain, no gain" philosophy for my practice. My style is yin and restorative ~ I strongly encourage relaxation and stillness so that your body can take a break from the daily patterns of tension and stress and focus on repairing and healing. If you are looking to feel refreshed, deeply relaxed, rejuvenated, awakened, and connected... then you're in the right place! Your massage experience with me is just that - an experience. It is not "just a massage". I carefully listen to you before, during, and after your massage and you will always be treated with dignity and respect - each and every session.
I am a 220 hour RYT trained in Yin, Restorative, and Vinyasa. I will always consider myself a student of yoga and I try my best to invite curiosity and exploration into my practice. One on one sessions take place in your home or virtually via Zoom. Whether you've been practicing for years, or you're a complete beginner, I look forward to meeting you wherever you're at on your yoga journey.
My coaching sessions are holistic and intuitive and aim to go deep within the body, mind, and spirit. These sessions are a blend of yoga, ceremony, guided meditation, sound bathing, massage, reiki, and journaling. They also include weekly goals, homework, and phone/video check-ins to keep you feeling supported and accountable. We will dive into patterns, beliefs, blockages, passions, goals, and dreams. Release what is no longer working and create space for more joy, peace, purpose, and abundance.
